A Piece of My Mind Section Editor: Roxanne
K. Young, Associate Editor.
I woke early this Sunday morning to get my tasks in the nursing home
done, to see my family before plunging into the hectic week when our contacts
become fleeting and matter-of-fact.
Old records, of old people: the ebb and flow of nursing home traffic
most often ends in death, most often after a decline, and most often it is
painful. So, confronting the Front Sheets with their regimented Admitting
Diagnoses, Jewish Home Diagnoses, Discharge Diagnoses, and my required Discharge
Summary, I'm faced, as always, with some questions.
