The careful and systematic study of any one of the chronic convulsive
disorders is certain to throw much light on all. The problem of discovering
their nature and pathology must rest largely in the future on the correlation
of such studies. The gradual change of the location of the lesion of convulsive
diseases from the muscle, peripheral nerve, medulla and basal ganglia to that
of the cerebral cortex has been brought about largely through detailed studies
on isolated cases.
