NEW YORK.
New York City.

Bellevue and the other city hospitals had a red-letter day on Christmas, owing to the liberality, it is said, of Mrs. Cornelius Vanderbilt, who, desiring to show her gratitude for the recovery of her husband from typhoid fever, sent a check for $500, to provide good things for the patients on Christmas.
