The New York Academy of Medicine adopted the following resolutions, Dec. 18, 1902:

Whereas, It is well known that the previous excavations for an Isthmian Canal have been attended with a large amount of illness and a heavy mortality, due mainly to malaria and yellow fever,

And, Whereas, Recent discoveries as to the causes of these diseases have enabled medical officers to control their ravages to a marked degree;
