George F. Pope, M.D.RED LAKE, MINN.
August 25 there appeared at my office a man, 26 years of age, who seemed
much agitated. He explained that he felt snakes in his right ear. By the aid
of direct illumination I observed close up against the ear drum and in the
canal just below it what appeared to be a mass of writhing white larvæ.
Some of them were wiggling in a circular manner about the canal close to the
drum membrane, but none ventured toward the external opening.
