There are more than 25 currently published journals that deal with clinical aspects of infectious disease, including such prestigious titles as Clinical Infectious Diseases, Infectious Disease Clinics of North America, Journal of Infectious Disease, and Scandinavian Journal of Infectious Diseases. The Lancet Publishing Group launched this new journal in August 2001, and it is a welcome addition to the literature, especially given the growing worldwide focus on the prevention and control of these diseases.
