Harrison's On Hand is the handheld entrée to the well known text Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, which is also available full text via the Internet as Harrison's Online. In this review version, the entrée to Harrison's was bundled with Lexi-Comp Drug Information and other texts searchable through the main Web site, Access Medicine.

This review is as much about the process by which information was accessed as about the information itself, and the experience of this reviewer required a clear distinction between the two. Access was initially an exercise in frustration, but the information provided a fresh look at an old friend. Being able to carry around in the palm of my hand the wealth of knowledge and guidance that I know exists between those familiar sky blue covers (by which astute readers will deduce the edition that introduced me to this venerable text and, thereby, the length of my relationship with it) was a welcome change from the standard struggle with the 10 pound tome.
