In Caring for Lesbian and Gay People: A Clinical Guide, Peterkin and Risdon take on the ambitious task of educating "the clinician who wants to provide competent, sensitive care" for lesbian and gay patients and "the teacher who hopes to help trainees examine their own attitudes toward sexuality." The book is a welcome contribution in a field with few resources, especially for the practitioner who wants to provide the best possible care for the lesbian or gay patient.
