To the Editor: Most often, emotional havoc overshadows financial considerations for physician defendants in medical liability litigation, as so vividly described by Dr Merenstein.1 Such experiences will drive physicians away from practice and dissuade the young and the brightest from studying medicine. While EBM may predict outcomes, delayed diagnosis of cancer remains a most common cause for medical liability action.
