To the Editor: Dr Schwartz and colleagues1 reported that respondents to their survey were
very enthusiastic to receive cancer screening. The authors were concerned
that this sentiment "creates an environment ripe for the premature diffusion
of technologies" such as total-body computed tomography (CT) scanning. We
disagree, however, that such "enthusiasm" necessarily leads to increased delivery
of such services.
