ACP Medicine can fairly be called the nearest
thing to a comprehensive medical reference system now available. About the
only thing ACP Medicine does not do for the busy
clinician is to order its own MEDLINE supplemental searches automatically.
It consists of two massive hardbound textbook volumes, a CD with browser for
rapid searches, an online version, electronic delivery of updates, a downloadable
reference resource for PDAs (Best Dx/Best Rx), and
a CME program offering a maximum of 120 credits per year at additional cost.
The online text is updated monthly, with e-mail alerts, the CD is updated
quarterly, and the bound textbook comes with a three-month trial of the online
service. (A looseleaf version is also available.)
