Parkinson Disease Registry Launched

Following on the heels of the landmark passage of a proposition that will provide nearly $3 billion for embryonic stem cell research in California comes another groundbreaking California endeavor—a statewide Parkinson disease registry that will be the biggest registry for the disease in the world. Many neurologists and patient advocacy groups lauded the passage of the bill calling for this initiative, which will require physicians in the state to submit basic information on all patients diagnosed as having the disease.
