This is the long-awaited second edition of Cells, Tissues, and Disease, first published by Blackwell Science in 1996. The authors are emeritus professors of pathology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester.

The textbook is an extremely well-written introductory account of the basic principles of cellular pathology. To our knowledge, it is the only basic-level text available in the subject at present. It can justifiably claim to be the successor to the Oxford Textbook of Pathology, volume 1, published in 1992.
