The Journal of Men’s Health and Gender seems
poised for distinction. It takes the gender part of its name seriously: its
provocative first editorial asks, “Should we already be putting men
on the list of endangered species?” and with its article “Counterfeit
Men: Women Who Lived in Male Disguise,” it has hit the ground running.
The nine-member editorial board includes two women, and the 56-member
international advisory board includes nine women. Board members have made
significant contributions to the initial issues. Specialties are not given,
but to our knowledge board members include at least 14 urologists, five family
medicine practitioners, three public health practitioners, and four psychiatrists.
The boards are geographically and ethnically diverse.
