Multiauthored texts often bring together the best of multiple perspectives and unique knowledge and understanding. But they also suffer, equally frequently, from the difficulty of integrating multiple views and voices into a coherent whole. In the case of Health Care Delivery in the United States, the editors have done their work well, better than most, in integrating the diverse material and views of disparate authors with unique perspectives, expertise, and skills. I am familiar with the text, having used earlier editions for 2 years in teaching a large undergraduate course.
