A Web site recently launched with $700 000 in initial funding from the National Institute of Mental Health will provide schizophrenia researchers with a “virtual community” in which to better communicate with colleagues and potential collaborators and learn about new studies, meetings, and funding opportunities.
The Schizophrenia Research Forum (http://www.schizophreniaforum.org) includes news articles, live chats with experts, weekly updated links to PubMed abstracts of schizophrenia-related articles, and an index of relevant Web sites with information, downloadable software, and other Web-based technologies for scientists. Future plans include a searchable database called SchizophreniaGene.
