For a complete, thorough, timely, and useful resource on the appreciation, evaluation, understanding, and treatment of headaches, the third edition of this text deserves applause. The Headaches contains a logical sequence of general principles, basic science, headache-specific information, and treatment. Many clinically relevant chapters highlight specific, challenging clinical situations, including headache during infancy, childhood, and adolescence, headache in elderly patients, and headaches in coexisting medical conditions such as pregnancy, psychiatric disease, and other pain syndromes.
