This second edition of Understanding Clinical Papers aims at giving health care professionals “guidance in understanding the clinical research literature.” The stated target audience would include physicians and other clinicians, students in undergraduate and postgraduate research courses, educators of these students, and “clinicians of all types engaged in research activities.” The authors are at the University of Leeds; Bowers is a lecturer in medical statistics, House is a professor of liaison psychiatry, and Owens is a senior lecturer in psychiatry.
