In Reply: We thank Dr Brousseau for highlighting the importance of mental health issues in the management of persons with HIV infection. In the context of antiretroviral therapy, our mention of comorbid conditions, patient readiness, and the importance of regimen adherence were all meant to subsume the myriad psychosocial challenges that patients face. We agree that consideration of these issues is crucial to successful antiretroviral therapy and appreciate the clarification.
