Author Affiliations

Book and Media Reviews Section Editor: John L. Zeller, MD, PhD, Fishbein Fellow.

JAMA. 2007;297(16):1827-1833. doi:10.1001/jama.297.16.1829

About 6 years ago, John Bernard Henry, MD, published the 20th edition of Clinical Diagnosis. Between 1969 and 2001, Dr Henry edited or coedited the 14th through 20th editions of this classic laboratory medicine text, making it one of the most successful medical books. In 2007, the text will enter its 99th year of publication, as well as mark its fourth transition of chief editor, from Henry to Drs McPherson and Pincus, previously associate editors. The new editors added Henry's name to the title, formalizing the common practice of referring to the book as “Henry’s.” Clinical Diagnosis has been and remains the main reference text for the field of clinical pathology.
