I could never forget your face,
I said while loopy from anesthesia.
But I have.
His sultry Spaniard look
and deep dark eyes—gone
into imagination's mishmash.
But as fresh as this morning’s
dew on parched grass
is the memory of
his kindness and his black
leather jacket bold
amid the white lab coats.
