Abstract

To the fifth edition of this book has been added a chapter on food adulteration. Simple tests are given for the detection of such adulteration. The remainder of the text has been revised, and the book is in consequence still better adapted than former editions for the instruction of the intelligent layman in the essentials of hygiene and right living.
