This is a well-written and well-illustrated discourse on operative surgery. Thirty pages are devoted to the ligation of vessels, thirty to excision of the various joints, and thirtysix to amputations and disarticulations, the remainder of the book being given over to operations on the extremities, head and neck, breast and trunk, and abdominal and urogenital operations. Each subject is discussed clearly and concisely, and the illustrations elucidate the text admirably.
