Abstract

This is a thorough and comprehensive sketch of the lifehistory of the human ovum. Fertilization, formation of the germinal layers, syncytium and embedding of the ovum, formation of the decidua and development of the placenta are clearly explained in accord with the most modern conceptions, and illustrated by excellent diagrams. The whole is a satisfactory exposition of the subject for medical students.
