Anthony, Los Gatos, has been appointed for the medical staff of the Red Chevron Society, an organization to identify all men unable to enter active service and to hold them during the period of the war in organization to render to the country whatever assistance they may be able to render as volunteers.—Dr. Arthur Hieronymus, city physician and head of the health department of Alameda, was operated on at the Alameda Sanitarium, July 28, and is reported to be doing well.
