To the Editor Dr Bekelman and colleagues1 found moderately increased uptake of hypofractionated (3-5 weeks) whole breast irradiation (WBI) for patients with early-stage breast cancer, an effective and economically sound regimen, between 2008 and 2013. In our experience, patient preference plays a noteworthy role in explaining the observed treatment patterns.
