In Reply We agree with Dr O’Gara that the majority of physicians are tirelessly working to deliver the highest quality of care for their patients. Our Viewpoint never argued otherwise.

Nonetheless, we disagree with Dr Kapoor that the physician’s office is the most cost-effective site of care. Although in-office tests can be convenient for patients, in many cases convenience comes at much higher prices for patients and a predilection for physicians to order more tests.
