Abstract

Safety Week  Under the auspices of the Industry Association, the Japan Mining Association and the Engineering Works Association, a safety week was held beginning November 21 to prevent accidental deaths and injuries in factories and mines throughout the country. The Tokyo authorities offered prizes for the best slogans for safety week. Two were accepted: "Kegasuru-toki no yosogokoro" (Absentmindedness leads to injury) and "Shikkari shigoto, ukkari jiko" (Unemployment causes accidents).

Antirabic Week  Antirabic week was held throughout the country, beginning November 11. The following routine was adhered to during the week: public education by means of lectures; examination of dogs; enforcement of registration of pet dogs; killing of all stray and nonregistered dogs; enforcement of the antirabic inoculation of dogs.
