Abstract

Your committee begs leave to report the passage, since our previous reports, of legislation providing for the proper labeling of household lye in the following states: Iowa, Vermont, Oregon, Nevada, New Hampshire, Colorado, Louisiana and Minnesota. This has been accomplished through untiring efforts of individual members of this committee in the respective states, to convince legislators of the need of such legislation. The following men deserve special mention for the successful work in their respective states: Dr. L. W. Dean, Dr. E. T. Brown, Dr. Ralph A. Fenton, Dr. J. Andre Fuller, Dr. Frank E. Kittredge, Dr. T. E. Carmody, Dr. Robert C. Lynch, and Dr. Horace Newhart. Equally good and hard work was done in other states, in which final passage was defeated in a number of ways that could not be adequately met, notwithstanding utmost efforts of the members in the respective states.
