This is a marvelously exhaustive summary of all that has been learned about the occurrence and behavior of sulphur and compounds of sulphur in biologic relations. It represents many years of patient search through the literature, of classification and of compilation. It will be invaluable in every laboratory and library where biologic problems are of interest, and constitutes a fitting monument to the memory of the senior author, whose industrious and useful life as a student and investigator in biologic chemistry was sadly terminated while in the midst of the most fruitful part of his career.
