Abstract

The many pupils and friends of von Eiselsberg in America will regard these volumes as a splendid tribute to him by the men he has developed in the Second Surgical Clinic in Vienna and therefore will be most cordially received. The twenty authors of the published chapters are well known contributors to contemporary medical literature and may be said to speak with authority for the Vienna school of surgery. The volumes are printed on excellent paper and the many pen and ink drawings, photographs and diagrams are excellently reproduced. The scope of the work is ambitious, for it includes not only the usual chapters on special surgery but also chapters on the theory and practice of roentgenology, dental surgery and prostheses, the ear, nose and throat, plastic operations on the face, and genito-urinary surgery.
