Time and Chance

We don’t get to choose our journeys.
Sometimes we think we do
sometimes perhaps we do
but the roads are never clearly marked
and we seldom have maps
and the maps are useless
in the roadless places we wander
through time and chance
till the end at the center
which is everywhere.
