Department Heads Appointed.  —Dr. Carl Sneed Williamson, formerly of the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., has been appointed head of the department of surgery at the University of Arkansas School of Medicine, Little Rock, and Dr. Oliver C. Melson, formerly of the Mayo Clinic, has been appointed head of the department of medicine.

Society News.  —Dr. Edward C. Mitchell, Memphis, Tenn., addressed the Mississippi County Medical Society, Blytheville, July 12, on "Diagnosis and Treatment of Diarrheas in Children," and Dr. John J. Shea, Memphis, Tenn., on "Urologic Problems of Interest to the General Practitioner."-Dr. Joseph S.
