High-Flow vs Conventional Oxygen Therapy and Risk of Reintubation

To the Editor Dr Hernández and colleagues1 showed that among extubated patients at low risk for reintubation, the use of high-flow oxygen therapy compared with conventional oxygen therapy significantly reduced the reintubation rate, particularly for respiratory-related reintubation. The results are similar to those from a previous study in a general population of critically ill patients.2
