This brief paper deals chiefly with the results of laboratory diagnosis of gastro-intestinal fevers in the Federated Malay States. The authors conclude, judging from the results of this inquiry, that typhoid is uncommon and paratyphoid rare. The isolation of specific bacilli was found much more truly diagnostic than the results of the Widal test.
