Precision Medicine Gets Boost

Vanderbilt University Medical Center recently was awarded a $71.6 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to establish a data research center to store and analyze the DNA profiles of up to 1 million US residents. The aim is to use the collected genomes to better understand how to tailor treatment to individual patients, which is the essence of President Obama’s Precision Medicine Initiative.
