This well written pamphlet is intended for persons who are looking for an easy guide to the use of vitamins, and hence it is directed to the public rather than to the medical profession. It fails somewhat in being as good as it should be for enthusiastic recommendation. While there are many items of value and much common sense is displayed in the selection of facts, there are some statements which could well be eliminated from a pamphlet of this sort. For example, it is stated that meat should not be fried for children. Certainly there is no valid reason why fried meat is not just as useful as roasted meat or stewed meat; indeed, there is evidence that frying meat is less destructive of thiamine than cooking by any other means.
