Writing in JAMA earlier this year, President Barack Obama reported that the US uninsured rate has declined by 43%, from 16% in 2010 to 9.1% in 2015, mainly because of reforms that came out of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). A US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) analysis of National Health Interview Survey data now shows that the gains in insurance coverage under the ACA haven’t discriminated.
