While the employment of roentgen irradiation in the therapy of skin and neoplastic diseases has been adequately covered, no textbook is available on the roentgen treatment of the infections. Although roentgen therapy should occupy a prominent place in the treatment of certain types of infections, the definite beneficial and, at times, remarkable results are not generally appreciated. The importance of accurate technic in the treatment of these diseases is too frequently overlooked, and this method of therapy is judged by the results obtained following the careless administration of an unknown or improper dose. The appearance of this volume fills a definite place in the literature of roentgen therapy, and it is especially fitting and proper that it is presented by the authors, who have been pioneers and who have contributed so much to the subject.
