The 1927 Status of Krankenkassen Organized Under Federal Law  In number 12 of Wirtschaft und Statistik, the federal bureau of statistics publishes a report on the financial status of the federally constituted krankenkassen, for the year 1927. Unfortunately, the report covers only 71 per cent of the krankenkassen, so that the results give only an approximate idea of their actual development. The total receipts of the federal krankenkassen, including the health insurance societies of the miners, amounted, in 1927, to 1,634,000,000 marks ($388,892,000). The total expenditures were 1,500,000,000 marks ($357,000,000). The total receipts were about 13 per cent and the total expenditures about 16 per cent higher than in 1926. In dues alone, 1,600,000,000 marks was received, as compared with 1,425,000,000 marks the previous year, which is explained by the increased incomes of the insured and the advancement of the limit of income necessitating enrolment in the krankenkassen, from 2,700
