This edition, published in June, now is in one volume. The previous reviews of the first two editions placed special emphasis on the clinical applicability of the text. The authors have added thirty-two additional illustrations so as to visualize the disease processes more accurately. The various classifications help to organize the subject material and simplify its further clinical consideration. Congenital malformations, with their recognition and treatment, are quite inclusive. The chapters on bone and joint diseases are descriptive and comprehensive. This volume serves the dual purpose of furnishing an introductory textbook to the student and a readily accessible text-book to the general practitioner. The new edition is a highly satisfactory addition to the manuals of general surgery.
