To the Editor:—
With reference to the editorial in The Journal, February 20, entitled "Surgical Treatment of Malignant Hypertension," may I call attention to the omission in this editorial of reference to the report of the first case of malignant hypertension subjected to bilateral lumbar sympathectomy. This was reported in The Journal, Sept. 26, 1925, in an article entitled "Bilateral Lumbar Sympathetic Neurectomy in the Treatment of Malignant Hypertension," by Leonard G. Rowntree and Alfred W. Adson.
