The author is too well known to require any statement as to his ability and experience. His researches on the reticuloendothelial system, its importance in the elaboration of bile from red blood corpuscles, and the role of the spleen in many diseases of the liver are well known to all. In this rather large volume are collected an enormous amount of material from the literature and a considerable amount from American investigators and from the author's own experimental and clinical work. One can find not alone the various tests of liver function but also an explanation of the modus operandi and an evaluation of the test. It is impossible to elaborate on a review of this book in its entirety because the subject matter as presented is too large.
