In this publication, prepared under the auspices of the Cuban Department of Education, Sanitation and Public Welfare by Victor Santamarina, there are brought together a series of educational essays which present an adequate view of the clinical aspects of the subject and which will prove of value to Spanishspeaking physicians. The first part of the volume is given over to a general discussion, with special emphasis on heliotherapy as developed in European centers. This is followed by a short historical retrospect of the development of our knowledge, including the work of Cuban physicians in the field of heliotherapy. Romaguera and Ortiz follow with two excellent reviews of climatology and meteorology in relation to medicine. The problems of tuberculosis and of infant and child welfare are then discussed by Milyares and there follows the review of the climatology of Cuba by Millas, a chapter that should prove of value to physicians
