Abstract

The subject matter in this volume covers the chemistry of the following groups of alkaloids: cinchona, quinazoline, lupin, imidazole, solanum, veratrum, β-phenethylamine, ephedra, and ipecac. Although the subtitle is "Chemistry and Physiology," a minimum of information on the physiology of these alkaloids is included. As in the first two volumes, the authors are well known in their fields, the editing appears to have been thorough, the index is extensive, and the book is well printed.
