The new edition of this magnificent textbook is filled with modern concepts based on recent developments in addition to the established fundamentals of medical practice. The first volume contains some excellent general discussions, especially on the sulfonamides and antibiotics. Particularly up to date is the second volume, with its section on injuries by chemical and physical agents to which human beings have not been exposed until recent years; this volume also contains the index.
