This is a well arranged and clearly written manual for the diabetic patient. Relatively little space is given to theory as such. However, in the sections devoted to foods, food selection and diet, the use of insulin and the complications of diabetes, sufficient incidental background and explanation are included to inform the patient not only what is to be done but why it is done. The author's point of view as to diabetic theory and therapy is apparently very similar to that of the conservative school in this country.
