This is a brochure typical of those published by health departments of the larger cities. It contains the usual information in readable and attractive form. It has fewer illustrations than some books of this type but probably enough to serve the purpose. Many of the illustrations leave something to be desired in the way of clarity. Some are printed in a faded shade of blue, which detracts from their effectiveness. In general the book is modern and up-to-date, particularly with respect to the emotional needs of the child. It can safely be recommended as a reliable guide to parents.
