The new edition of the American Medical Directory, the 19th, is now in galley proof, and it is expected that the book will be ready for delivery late in 1955. The previous edition was issued in 1950. Since that time, it has not been possible to publish a new edition, because changes in the membership structure of the American Medical Association made it difficult to obtain an accurate list of members. Within the next few weeks, a directory information card will have been mailed to every physician in the United States, its dependencies, and Canada, requesting information to be used in compiling the new directory. Physicians receiving an information card should fill it out and return it promptly regardless of whether any change has occurred in any of the points on which information is requested. It is urged that physicians also fill out the right half of the card, which
