Pearl Lewis presents an elementary discussion of reasons why the body requires food; which foods contain nutrients essential for health, and representative diets for normal persons of different age groups. The book is written for the layman. The untrained housewife will find it particularly helpful in planning and preparing well balanced meals. Miss Lewis was formerly in charge of the dietary department of the Kahler Hospital and Hotel.
